Snow License Manager may be a world class Software Asset Management tool, but that doesn’t mean it manages assets for you. It’s just that, a tool. In the right hands operators can skilfully register entitlement, assess compliance, identify cost-saving opportunities, deliver real return on investment, and more.
Many organisations implementing Snow fail in a vital area, end user training. Software Asset Managers and procurement teams are left to ‘figure it out’ for themselves. But without a comprehensive understanding of your tools, how can you implement policies and processes that work for you? An implementation project must include training. It’s a small component that is critical for success. If you’ve had Snow for years and it’s merely sitting on the shelf, it’s never too late to turn your investment into a powerful, value-driving asset that delivers the visibility, control, and savings it was designed to provide.
The primary group targeted for this training. Starting with foundation skills – like navigating the interface and registering entitlement – through to more complex customisations. As you learn, you’ll identify policies and processes to help protect your valuable software assets. A deeper understanding of Snow will make it your ally in improving your organisation’s recognition of SAM as key to reducing software spend while improving compliance.
Snow is a valuable tool in connecting purchasing decisions with real-world software usage. It helps Procurement teams track renewals, support agreements, and true ownership costs. If Procurement is responsible for registering licence entitlement, it is critical they understand how to represent it accurately in Snow. An improved understanding of Snow improves collaboration between IT and Procurement, as their processes are often intertwined.
Snow powerfully rationalises large sets of data read from your estate into meaningful insights. This provides greater visibility for other roles in your organisation such as Helpdesk, IT Security, and management. The more personnel that understand what Snow provides, the greater the benefit it brings across your organisation.
This course has been designed to run across two full days – and that includes time already incorporated for any discussions or questions that may arise from the training.
