Changes to Microsoft Product Terms – April 2025

A new month brings new changes to some Microsoft Product Terms - read the summary of the latest amendments to be made.

General

The Microsoft Enterprise AI Services Code of Conduct, effective February 26, 2025, applies to all Microsoft AI Services and unifies and replaces the previous codes for Microsoft Generative AI Services, Azure AI Vision Face API, and Azure AI Speech text to speech. All references to the previous Code of Conduct(s) have been updated.

Universal License Terms for Online Services

Frontline Worker Use Rights have moved to the Universal Terms for Online Services from product specific pages. Relevant products that apply to the Use Rights covered by the Universal Terms are indicated in the Product Condition table in product specific pages, and a new definition for “Frontline Worker License” has been introduced in the Glossary. Updated Government Customer terms language for clarity.

Privacy & Security Terms

Added Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales to Core Online Services.

Added Dynamics 365 Contact Center to the list of Core Online Services.

Windows Desktop Operating System

Microsoft 365

Removed Microsoft Entra Permissions Management, Microsoft Viva Topics and Secure Access Essentials from Availability and Prerequisite tables. Added Frontline Worker Licenses to Product Conditions.

Updated Data Handling terms and query data terms for M365 Copilot and Copilot Chat. Added language to clarify that server OSEs need a separate Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Business, or Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management for server license(s).

Microsoft Business Premium 365 has been added as a prerequisite to Microsoft 365 E5 Security.
