Microsoft Azure

Introduced a “Microsoft Azure AI Services” definition to ensure certain cross-cutting terms apply to all Azure services incorporating AI (e.g. customer compliance with technical documentation, Limited Access Services, and Bing grounding requirements). Renamed “Azure Direct Models” to “Foundry Models sold by Azure.” Replaced the laundry list of model-provider-specific terms for Foundry Models sold by Azure with a single provision directing customers to a documentation page for those terms. Clarified the scope of models classified as Non-Microsoft Products (i.e. models not provided by Microsoft or as Foundry Models sold by Azure) and added that their use is still subject to the Enterprise AI Services Code of Conduct. Updated legacy references from “Azure AI Services” to “Foundry Tools” to better align terms with the intended service scope. Clarified Azure Hybrid Benefit terms to reflect that only one of the Azure Local SKUs is available for Azure Hybrid Benefit.

GitHub Offerings

The section of the Product Terms for GitHub Offerings related to GitHub Copilot are no longer needed and have been removed. This section was originally added to ensure terms parity with contracts provided to GitHub-direct customers. As of 5 March 2026, GitHub now uses a global “Generative AI Services” term set similar to the Microsoft Generative AI Services Terms.
