The complete list of Microsoft products being killed off in 2025

The end of support for Windows 10 might be grabbing all of the spotlight, but that's by no means the only Microsoft product suffering the same fate.

Published on 13th August 2025

We all know by now that Windows 10 is reaching end of support on October 14, 2025, but as reported in the past, there are other products reaching end of life (EoL) too. These include Visual Studio 2015, the IoT, Enterprise, and Education editions of Windows 11 version 22H2, and Windows 10 2015 LTSB. As such, it’s also worthwhile highlighting a comprehensive list of all products and services reaching end of support in 2025 as well.

Let’s start with a list of products governed by Microsoft’s Modern Lifecycle Policy, which are hitting end of servicing or retirement deadlines in 2025. For those unaware, the Modern Lifecycle Policy dictates that a product will be supported until as long as customers keep their software updated, have a valid license, and Microsoft continues offering support. With that being said, keep in mind that since we are more than halfway through the year, some of the products and services mentioned below have already been retired:

Next is a list of Microsoft products governed by the Fixed Lifecycle Policy that are hitting end of support this year. SQL Server 2019 reached end of mainstream support on February 28, 2025 and will in extended support until January 8, 2030. Meanwhile, Azure DevOps Server 2020 and Microsoft Robotics will hit end of mainstream support on October 14, 2025, but will remain under extended support till October 8, 2030. There are also support changes planned for granular Azure services, SDKs, and APIs.
